Auteur de l'article : Kontron, represented in France by Astone Technology, has launched a new COM Express® Type 6 module with high-performance Intel® Core (TM) / Xeon® E 8th generation processors.
The COMe-bCL6 module in COM Express® basic Type 6 format (125×95 mm) is based on the 8th generation processors of the Intel® Core family ™/Xeon® E and the mobile chipset (CM246/QM370 PCH). This module is available in different processor variants, including hexa-core CPU versions and can reach a RAM capacity of 64 GB DDR4 ECC/non-ECC. A third and fourth memory slot can be equipped on request.
The new COM Express® module integrates the Intel® Optane™ acceleration system in a compact design for fast transfers of large data volumes, as well as the fastest NVMe SSD storage technology.
USB 3.1 supports up to 10Gbs and USB Type C offers twice as much bandwidth as USB 3.0 for faster data transfer.
Moreover, the new COMe-bCL6 module benefits from the enhanced graphics performance of 8th generation Intel processors, allowing for the management of four displays in 4K resolution. It also supports Kontron’s APPROTECT security solution. Based on an integrated Wibu-Systems security chip, as well as a specially developed software layer, it provides IP protection as well as software copy protection and reverse engineering.
Areas of application include communications, digital display, medical imaging, monitoring and security, defence, as well as the industrial and transportation sectors.
The COMe-bCL6 8th generation module is available with ECC support options and caters for industrial temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C, in the following processor variants :
- Intel® Xeon® Xeon® Xeon® E-2176M, 6x 2.7 GHz (4.4 GHz), GT2, 45/35 W
- Intel® Core(TM) i7-8850H, 6x 2.6 GHz (4.3 GHz), GT2, 45/35 W
- Intel® Core(TM) i5-8400H, 4x 2.5 GHz (4.2 GHz), GT2, 45/35 W
